Our
department has organised a series of activities under the title "Europe
in Reach', whose biggest highlight will take place today: a concert
of the prestigious 'Virtuosos de Fontainebleau'. The spirit with which
all these events have been programmed, is to promote and further the
traditional vocation of Europeanism, which our country has always aspired
to.
Europe
signifies progress, culture and civic-mindedness, a triple convention
which we have to accept and achieve despite the material obligation
which this could signify in the future.
We
can now claim on paper that we are Europeans but beyond the documents
can we talk about a way of acting and being European? And who could
be better than the refined French to personify this way of being?
And
what could be better than classical music to symbolise the cultural
synthesis of greater Europe?
So today, as an epilogue, we've united these two symbols. We've no doubt
that you will know how to interpret and at the same time enjoy them.
