Reminder of the first Teledeum

Teledeum is the rehearsal, in a television studio, of the ceremony to be broadcast live the following day
This ceremony is a Teledeum, a joint religious celebration officiate by five co-celebrants, representatives respectively of the Catholic, Anglican and American Churches – in our production we anticipated the possible division of this congregation – the Jehova’s Witnesses and the Mormons. These are helped by four acolytes, including a Catholic nun from Valencia and a Catalan friar. For an hour and a half, uninterrupted, the audience witness the confrontation between these nine characters, confrontations that are not strictly theological, in fact theology is hardly spoken of, but rather revolve around marginal, mediocre questions.

Comments from Albert Boadella to the newspaper El País

In later programmes three phrases were included that had been published in different newspapers:

A shameful product to set on stage in a Dramatic Arts Centre of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Juan de Sagarra (critic) - El País

I didn't laugh once. To tell the truth, the whole set up gave the impression of being absolute rubbish.
José Ma González Ruiz (priest) - El País

Personally, and exercising my right of free expression, I have no desire to go and see it.
Jordi Pujol (politician) - Noticiero Universal.
